CEI Members Welcome Progress by EU Applicants, Golob Says Slovenia has Benefited from Membership

Ohrid, 26 June - Foreign Ministers from 17 member states of the Central European Initiative (CEI) welcomed the progress made by seven CEI members applying for EU membership in a joint statement that was adopted Wednesday, on the final day of a two-day meeting in Macedonia's Ohrid. In his address to the participants, Slovene Foreign Ministry State Secretary Ignac Golob stressed that Slovenia hopes that it would soon become a member of the EU and NATO, while it would continue to co-operate in the CEI partnership, from which it has benefited over the years.
