Slovene Constitutional Court to Decide on Fate of NEK Case on Thursday

Ljubljana/Zagreb, 26 June - The Slovene Constitutional Court is expected to decide on Thursday whether it will consider the request to check the constitutionality of the Slovene-Croatian agreement on the jointly-constructed Krsko Nuclear Power Plant (NEK), a Court spokesperson revealed on Wednesday. In a response to the request to check the constitutionality of the agreement, the Slovene government said that Slovenia would be harmed by the unsolved issue of NEK ownership. At the government's initiative, Speaker of Parliament Borut Pahor is expected to call for an extraordinary session of parliament to decide on the ratification of the agreement if the Constitutional Court throws out the request.
