Mobitel to Offer UMTS Next Year, Simobil Still in the Game

Ljubljana/Vienna, 7 November - The third generation of mobile technology (UMTS) is to be available to users of Slovenia's biggest mobile telephony provider Mobitel before the end of 2003, which would put Mobitel among the first in Europe to offer these sevices, the company's head Anton Majzelj told the press on Thursday. Meanwhile, Simobil, the second biggest provider of the mobile telephony in Slovenia, claims it is still a serious contender for acquiring the UMTS license.
