Senior Slovenian Diplomat Dies at 71

Ljubljana, 12 November - Foreign Ministry State Secretary Ignac Golob passed away on Tuesday, the ministry said, but refused to reveal any other details about his death. Golob, born in 1931, has held several top diplomatic posts in the former Yugoslavia and is credited with helping Slovenia gain recognition in the United Nations after it declared independence in 1991.
