Milk Farmers Block Road in SE Slovenia in Protest against Strict Measures

Novo Mesto, 13 November - Some 250 to 300 farmers from the Novo mesto region in SE Slovenia blocked the main road Ljubljana - Novo mesto with some 60 tractors soon after 11 AM in a protest against the measures introduced after a recent discovery of a banned drug in milk. While talks are now underway with government officials, farmers have increased the pressure, threatening to block border crossings with Croatia if their demands are not met.
