Basketball: Slovenia Edges Out Portugal in EC Qualifier

Porto, 20 November - The Slovenian national basketball team managed to squeeze out a victory against Portugal in the sixth round of Group E qualifiers for the 2003 European Championships, played in Sao Joao da Madeira on Wednesday. Despite squandering a 16 point lead held late in the third quarter, the Slovenians won 106:99 (29:20, 57:46, 81:74).
