NATO Summit: Economy Must Not Suffer at Expense of Defence Spending, Says GZS

Ljubljana, 21 November - The positive aspect of Slovenia's NATO membership is that, by entering NATO, Slovenia's country risk would become lower, and companies would consequently find it easier to get favourable loans, head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) Jozko Cuk told STA. He noted, however, that membership also means an increase in defence spending. "This must not put a greater burden on the economy and increase the budget deficit," he stressed.
