Ailing Planica to Become a Major National Sports Centre

Planica, 21 November - Planica, an Alpine valley in NW Slovenia famous for its ski jumps, has been long considered the symbol of Slovenian sport. However, time took its toll on the large constructions and a collapse in the preparations to the 2002 World Cup finals finally brought to attention the need for modernisation. To bring back the bright days to the tiny valley, plans have been unveiled to make Planica the number one Slovenian sport centre, open all-year round.
