STA Coverage on Friday, 22 November

Ljubljana, 21 November - The STA English service will cover the following events on Friday, 22 November:

PRAGUE - The Slovenian delegation attending the NATO summit will be led by Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek, and will also include Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, Defence Minister Anton Grizold and Chief of Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces Ladislav Lipic. On the last day of the summit, heads of state of all 46 countries of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) will meet, alongisde NATO defence ministers. PM Drnovsek is to speak about Euro-Atlantic partnetrship and the challenges in the 21st century.

LJUBLJANA - Results of the November Politbarometer poll, a survey polling citizens views on NATO and the EU is to be presented to the press by the opinion research centre of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

LJUBLJANA - The opposition New Slovenia (NSi) is to outline its position on the NATO invitation extended to Slovenia. Press conference at 10:30.

PORTOROZ - The 4th, two-day Slovenian Business Conference is to wrap up, with two panels debating public finances, and Slovenian managers in a united EU. Both are to be held in the afternoon.

LJUBLJANA - Vika Potocnik of LDS and her rival for the post of Ljubljana mayor Danica Simsic (ZLSD) are to confront their views on the future management of the Slovenian capital in a TV head-to-head late in the evening.
