Austrian Parliamentary Elections Echo in the Press

Ljubljana, 25 November - The Slovenian press on Monday comments on the victory of Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel and his People's Party (OeVP) at the Austrian parliamentary elections on Sunday. While Delo says that Austria is no longer a risk factor for EU enlargement, Dnevnik suggests that the key to Schussel's success lies in the fact that he managed to turn the election race into a personal challenge between him and Social Democrats' (SPOe) leader Alfred Gusenbauer.
