Last Slovenian Socialist President Awarded Golden Order of Freedom
Ljubljana, 28 November - Slovenian President Milan Kucan awarded on Thursday the golden order of freedom to Janez Stanovnik, the last president of the Slovenian presidency under the former Yugoslavia. The 80-year-old Stanovnik was honoured for his extraordinary merits in the defence of freedom and the establishment of Slovenia's independence.
