Gov't Moves to Let Open Source Software into Public Administration

Ljubljana, 16 October - A document on the government's policy on the development, introduction and use of open-source software was adopted by the cabinet on Thursday. According to Information Society Minister Pavel Gantar, the government is not abandoning licensed software; it will treat open source and license programmes equally, whereby the selection will be based on cost and functionality analysis, he said.
