Slovenia To Celebrate Reformation Day

Ljubljana, 30 October - Reformation Day, celebrated on 31 October, has been a bank holiday in the predominantly Roman Catholic Slovenia since 1992. A brief period of some 50 years when Reformation ideas were strongly present on the territory of today's Slovenia had a profound impact on Slovenian people. Credited with publishing the first books in the Slovenian language in 1550, Slovenian Protestants are considered to be the fathers of Slovenian literature.
