Mercator Posts Excellent Results; Speculations about New Acquisitions

Ljubljana, 5 November - The first nine months showed net profit of SIT 6.21bn (EUR 26.3m) for Slovenia's number one retailer Mercator, while the whole Mercator group had a slightly lower profit - SIT 5.37 (EUR 22.7m) as intra-group transactions had not been accounted for, said Mercator in a press release. Meanwhile, Wednesday's business daily Finance speculated that the retailer is interested in purchasing technical goods retailer Obi.
