Ljubljana, 5 November - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 6 November:
PIRAN - Center for the Promotion of Small Business and the Central European Initiative (CEI) in collaboration with the Economics Ministry, the Government Office for Structural Policies and Regional Development, the Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB), Gea private college and the Ljubljana Faculty of Economics will put on the 5th international conference on the challenges and opportunities presented by EU membership to small businesses in CEI countries. The conference, which will be addressed by Economics Minister Tea Petrin, Regional Development Minister Zdenka Kovac, EU Ambassador to Slovenia Erwan Fouere and Chamber of Commerce President Jozko Cuk, will run through Friday. LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary commission investigating the attack on on journalist Miro Petek is expected to interview Vlado Kun, labelled by media as the chief of the criminal underground in the region of Korosko. Kun had skipped both previous appointments, for which reason the commission promised to have him brought in by force if he does not show up this time. The chairman of the commission Mirko Zamernik believes that Kun could be a key witness in the case. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian government is to hold its regular weekly session at which it will discussed changes to the penal code and a proposed resolution on the national energy program. A press conference is to follow the session at around 2:00 PM. (STA)
VIENNA, Austria - A parliamentary delegation headed by Speaker Borut Pahor is to begin a two-day official visit to Austria.
