Press Examines Report on Slovenia's EU-Readiness

Ljubljana/Maribor, 6 November - The three major Slovenian dailies examine the European Commission's report on Slovenia's readiness to join the EU. Each focussing on different highlights, the papers stress that the report does not represent the end of the road, or reason for extreme joy. Delo says that Slovenia will have to affirm itself in the EU now, while Dnevnik warns that reality will catch up with Slovenia. Meanwhile, Vecer ties the whole matter with Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel's problems with corruption accusations.
