Survey Shows Disappointing Literacy Rate in Slovenia

Ljubljana, 6 November - Functional literacy of older generations of Slovenians is close to disastrous. In an international survey on literacy of adults conducted 4 years ago in 20 countries, Slovenia's results were among the worst. As much as 74 percent of Slovenians between the ages of 16 and 64 are below level 3 (out of 5) of literacy, with level 3 being the one which allows one to function normally in a society.
