Ljubljana, 12 November - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 13 November:

LJUBLJANA - Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski is scheduled to launch a two-day official visit to Slovenia. He is due to meet his Slovenian counterpart Janez Drnovsek. The pair will give a press conference at 1:05 PM. Kwasniewski is also due to meet Prime Minister Anton Rop and Parliament Speaker Borut Pahor. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - STA will release interviews with all three candidates for a new president of the People's Party (SLS), namely Janez Podobnik, Ivan Bizjak and Peter Vrisk, ahead of the party's early congress scheduled for Saturday.

SALZBURG, Austria - A Slovenian delegation headed by Agriculture Minister Franci But is to take part at the second European Conference on Rural Development that has been organised by the European Commission. (STA)

BRUSSELS, Belgium - The curtain is to be drawn on an annual meeting of armed forces chiefs from the current and future NATO members. Slovenian chief of staff Major General Ladislav Lipic is to be in attendance. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The government is to hold its weekly session at which it will debate changes to the public sector wage act. A press conference is scheduled to ensue the session at 2:00 PM. (STA)

BERLIN, Germany - Europe Minister Janez Potocnik is scheduled to visit Germany, meeting with the head of the EU section at the German Finance Ministry Siegrid Seltz, Minister of State for EU affairs at the Foreign Ministry Hans Martin Bury, head of the EU section in the Chancellor's office Reinhard Silberberg and head of section for European affairs at the Foreign Ministry Eckart Cuntz. The discussions will be a chance to exchange views on the inter-governmental conference debating the EU reforms, the future EU budgets and the establishment of the future external border of the EU.

BLED - A regional seminar of social partners which will debate ways to strengthen the pension system with streamlined collection of contributions is to be launched. The two-day event is being put on by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Slovenian Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Environmental NGOs are to examine the results of the environmental partnership and thereby establish whether it is feasible to continue the partnership at a conference that is due to begin at 1:00 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's fourth-largest insurer Adriatic is to present three-quarterly results at 12:00 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - A Slovenian-Dutch business conference is to be held, starting at 5:00 PM, as part of Dutch Foreign Trade Minister Karien van Gennip's visit to the country.

LJUBLJANA/CATEZ - At 1 PM, Slovenia's Football Association is to hold a press conference ahead of Saturday's match against Croatia. An hour earlier, the Croatian national team, who have their training base in Slovenia's spa town Catez, is also to speak to the press.

PAU, France/NOVO MESTO, Slovenia - Slovenian basketball clubs Union Olimpija and Krka are to play second round Euroleague games at 8:40 PM. Union is to play at France's Pau Orthez, while Krka will host Israel's Maccabi Tel Aviv.

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina - Slovenian girls choir, Carmina Slovenica, is to begin its South American tour with a solo concert at the famous Teatro Colon in Argentina's capital. On its second tour of the continent, the choir will perform in Argentina and Chile until 25 November.

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian police are to hold a press conference on traffic safety in winter conditions at 11:00 AM.
