Ljubljana, 16 November - Schedule of events in the week from 17 to 23 November:

MONDAY, 17 November

LJUBLJANA - Parliament is scheduled to meet for an extraordinary session to debate on proposed changes to the Constitution. The 13 proposals for changes refer to regionalism, the election of government, referendums, permanent term of judges, MP immunity, non-discrimination of the disabled, social security rights, voting legislation and the preamble to the Constitution.

LJUBLJANA - Speaker of the Danish parliament Christian Mejdahl, who is paying a visit to Slovenia, is due to hold a meeting with his Slovenian counterpart Borut Pahor.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to attend a meeting of EU foreign ministers.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Defence Minister Anton Grizold is to attend a meeting of EU defence ministers.

LJUBLJANA - Chairman of NATO Military Committee, General Harald Kujat is to pay a visit to Slovenia at the invitation of Slovenian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Ladislav Lipic.

LONDON, Great Britain - Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs Vlado Dimovski is to pay a two-day visit to Great Britain.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Agriculture Minister Franci But is to attend a meeting of EU agriculture ministers.

LJUBLJANA - A five-day international conference on supervision of the securities market, organised by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Slovenian Securities Market Agency, is to begin.

PORTOROZ - The European congress "Milk and Dairy Products", hosted by the Ljubljana Biotechnics Faculty, is to continue.

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Statistics Office is to publish monthly figures on wages.

TUESDAY, 18 November

LJUBLJANA - The parliament is to continue its extraordinary session on proposed changes to the Constitution.

LJUBLJANA - Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to hold a press conference on current affairs.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to attend a session of the intergovernmental conference on EU reform.

SLOVENJ GRADEC - Car-seat cover producer Prevent is to hold a press conference.

CERKNICA - The Trade Union of Slovenian Farmers is to organise a round table on changes in the veterinary and forest sectors upon EU entry and on the income tax bill.
BLED - A two-day regional conference on stolen cars is to begin. The event is organised by the Slovenian Interior Ministry in cooperation with Stability Pact for SE Europe.

WEDNESDAY, 19 November

LJUBLJANA - Distinguished academicians and politicians are to discuss what values Slovenia should pursue in the frame of an extensive debate on the future of Slovenia, a forum initiated by President Janez Drnovsek.

LJUBLJANA - Parliament is scheduled to end the extraordinary session on proposed changes to the Constitution.

LJUBLJANA - Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to organise a round table on family violence.

VIENNA, Austria - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to attend a charity event for the Iraqi children in Vienna.

THURSDAY, 20 November

LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is to hold its weekly session.

LJUBLJANA - Parliament's committe on culture, the committee on education, science and sport, and the commission probing into the journalist Petek attack are scheduled to hold meetings.

WARSAW, Poland - Prime Minister Anton Rop is to attend a two-day summit of the Central European Initiative (CEI).

BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro - Parliamentary delegation headed by Speaker Borut Pahor is to pay a one-day visit to Serbia-Montenegro.

ANAKARA, Turkey - Slovenia and Turkey are to hold regular bilateral political consultations. The Slovenian delegation will be headed by Foreign Ministry State Secretary Andrej Logar.

LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to recieve Albanian Ambassador to Ljubljana Daut Gumeni on a farewell visit.

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Medical Chamber is to hold a session to adopt a stance on the government-proposed health reform.

PORTOROZ - The 5th Slovenian Business Conference is to begin. Organised by the Ljubljana Economics Faculty, daily Finance and the Slovenian Association of Economists, the two-day event is to focus on opportunities for the economic growth in the enlarged Europe.

FRIDAY, 21 November

MARIBOR - A ceremony will be held to mark the 35th anniversary of the Slovenian Territorial Defence.

LJUBLJANA - The three-day conference on European law in Slovenia will be launched. The event is organised by the Ljubljana Institute for European Studies.

MARIBOR - Economics Ministry is to hold a press conference on operations of the state fund for promotion of small businesses.

PODCETRTEK - Spa resort Terme Olimia is to hold a press conference.

LJUBLJANA - The 14th edition of the Ljubljana International Film Festival (LIFFe) is to conclude with the awards ceremony.

SUNDAY, 23 November

LJUBLJANA - A charity concert will be held to mark ten years of UNICEF Slovenija.
