Erasure of Constitutional Article 143 to Enable Formation of Regions
Ljubljana, 17 November - The parliament kicked off Monday's emergency session on constitutional changes with the proposal to cross out Article 143 of the Constitution in order to pave the way for the formation of provinces and the decentralisation of decision-making in Slovenia. The proposal, put forward by LDS lawmaker Maksimiljan Lavrinc, is likely to be voted on later today. To pass, two-thirds of the MPs must endorse it.
