EMU Entry Was Risky, but Deliberate Decision, Says Finance Ministry

Portorož, 20 November - The decision to enter the European Exchange Rate Mechanism ERM II and the European Monetary Union (EMU) as soon as possible has been risky, but well thought through. The existing combination of the exchange rate and monetary policies would be very difficult to continue, besides Slovenia has received clear warnings from some states that such a policy is not good, said Finance Minister Dusan Mramor.
