Ljubljana, 26 November - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 27 November:

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary foreign policy committee is to hold a closed-door session at 8.30 AM to discuss the preparations for the upcoming ministerial meeting in Naples, which will seek a compromise on the EU institutional reform. The committee will discuss stances to be represented by the government in Naples. A press statement is expected at 9.30 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Czech Minister Miroslav Kostelka is to arrive for a two-day official visit to Slovenia. He is to meet his Slovenian counterpart Anton Grizold, President Janez Drnovsek, and sign an agreement on war graves. A press statement is scheduled at 1.30 PM. (STA)

VENICE, Italy - Agriculture Minister Franci But is to take part in the Euro-Mediterranean Conference on Agriculture in the Mediterranean, which will be attended by agriculture ministers from the countries signatories of the 1995 Barcelona Convention for the Protection of the Mediterranean Sea Against Pollution.

BRDO PRI KRANJU - The fourth, two-day conference of presidents of supreme courts of Slovenia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia is to begin at 9 AM. Press statements are to be given at noon. (STA)

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Interior Minister Rado Bohinc and Justice Minister Ivan Bizjak are to attend a two-day session of justice and interior ministers of the EU member states and the acceding countries.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - A two-day session of ministers from the EU and the acceding countries in charge of competition, which is also attended by Slovenian Economics Minister Tea Petrin, is to wrap up.

ROME, Italy - A meeting of chairs of parliamentary bodies for European affairs from the current EU member states and acceding countries is to be attended by Slovenia's Bogdan Barovic, vice-chair of the parliamentary European affairs commission.

LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is to convene for a regular weekly session at 10 AM. On the table will be the EU Accession Treaty ratification bill and an analysis of the European Commission final report on Slovenia's readiness to join the EU on 1 May 2004. A press conference will follow at 2 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to continue its regular November session at 10 AM. The agenda includes a six-hour session on changes to the voting act. (STA)

ILIRSKA BISTRICA - The Slovenian-Croatian commission monitoring the implementation of the cross-border agreement is to meet for a session at 10.30 to discuss tourism zones. A press conference will follow at 2.30 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) is to hold a session at 12.30 PM, discussing the macroeconomic and business environment in 2004 and measures necessary to boost the competitiveness of the Slovenian economy in the light of meeting the Lisbon Strategy. Also attending the session will be PM Anton Rop.

LJUBLJANA - Brussels and the capitals of the ten acceding countries will hold the pre-selection tests for the recruitment of translators and secretaries for the work in the EU bodies.

LJUBLJANA - The National Statistical Office is to release the industrial output figures for October 2003. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - A press conference will be given at noon by the Slovenian Armed Forces team leaving for the 3rd World Military Games.

NOVO MESTO/LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian basketball team Krka will take on Montepaschi Siena in the 4th round of the Euroleague at 6 PM. In a match starting at 8.40 PM in Ljubljana Union Olimpija will clash with Barcelona. (STA)
