Schedule of Events for Friday, 28 November

Ljubljana, 27 November - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 28 November:

NAPLES, Italy - The foreign ministers of the EU member states and the acceding countries, including Slovenia's Dimitrij Rupel, will try to make a breakthrough in the intergovernmental talks on the constitutional treaty at a two-day meeting. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The National Assembly is due to wrap up its November session. Lawmakers are set to take a decision on the head of the Court of Auditors and the president of the Supreme Court. Lawmakers are also expected to debate the amendments to the public sector wages act, as well as several other pieces of law. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Europe Minister Janez Potocnik is to hold talks with Reinhard Priebe, Director for Western Balkans at the Directorate General for External Relations of the European Commission. The guest is also to be received by Foreign Ministry State Secretary Samuel Zbogar and the chair of the parliamentary foreign policy committee Jelko Kacin. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Statistics Office will present the inflation figures for November at 10:30 AM. Other data, including three-quarterly unemployment and economic growth figures, is also expected to be revealed. (STA)

DUTOLJE/VIPAVA - Czech Defence Minister Miroslav Kostelka is set to wrap up a two-day visit to Slovenia. He is to visit the World War I grave in Dutovlje, western Slovenia, for soldiers killed at the Isonzo Front. A visit to the army barracks in Vipava is also planned.

LJUBLJANA - The council of the Slovenian Democrats (SDS), the country's strongest opposition party, is due to hold a session. A statement for the press is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Justice and interior ministers of the current and future EU members, as well as the Western Balkans, are to hold a meeting dedicated to the fight on organised crime and illegal migrations. Slovenian Interior Minister Rado Bohinc is due to attend.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Education ministers of the current and future EU members are to hold an informal meeting. Slovenia is to be represented by Minister of Education, Science and Sports Slavko Gaber.

TRIESTE, Italy - The two umbrella organisations of the Slovenian minority in Italy are to present the final document of the minority's programming conference.

LJUBLJANA - Austrian Agriculture Minister Josef Proell is to present the Austrian food industry at a press conference.

MARIBOR - A new logistics centre of the Slovenian Post is to be opened at 4:00 PM. Prime Minister Anton Rop, Minister of the Information Society Pavel Gantar and Director
General of the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union Thomas E. Leavy are to be on hand for the occassion. (STA)

DUBROVNIK, Croatia - A Balkans conference on drugs will begin, organised by the Slovenian and Croatian offices fighting drug abuse. It will run until 30 November.

PORTOROZ - The curtain is to be drawn on the ninth annual conference of auditors. Scheduled speakers include Prime Minister Anton Rop and the head of the Government Office for Money Laundering Prevention Klaudijo Stroligo.

CATEZ OB SAVI - A press conference is set to be held on the margins of a three-day annual conference of Slovenian tax experts.
