MPs Reject Changes to Elections Act

Ljubljana, 27 November - The national assembly has failed to back amendments to the elections act that envisage the introduction of an absolute preference vote and the elimination of electoral districts. With 46 votes in favour and 20 against, the changes did not receive the necessary two-thirds majority or 60 votes to proceed to second reading.
