Slovenia to Sit on FAO Council

Rome, 6 December - From January 2005 to November 2007, Slovenia will have a seat on the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) council. The highest FAO body has 49 members with a three-year term. Ten seats are reserved for European countries and the council meets semi-annually to decide on FAO strategy, programme and finance.
