BRUSSELS, Belgium - European Affairs Minister Janez Potocnik is to meet with Jaime Garcia Lombardero, who is in charge of Slovenia and Hungary at the European Commission Enlargement Directorate-General, at 11:45 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The role of knowledge and science in Slovenia will be debated in a third in a series of forums hosted by President Janez Drnovsek. Distinguished scholars, politicians and other public figures are to take part. Start at 10 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Forum on the Future of the EU is to hold its 11th session to discuss the progress of the EU intergovernmental conference. The session is to be attended by Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel and chiar of the parliamentary commission for European affairs Alojz Peterle. At 2 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - At 5 PM, a public panel on the equal representation of women and men is to be hosted by a Stability Pact task force for gender equality, the Government Office for Equal Opportunities and the Council of Europe's information centre. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - At 9 AM, the parliamentary foreign policy committee is to hold a session to debate bills to ratify the Slovenia-Vatican agreement and a Slovenian-Croatian defence cooperation agreement.

LJUBLJANA - The mobile telephony provider Mobitel is to give a press conference ahead of the launch of the third generation mobile telephony technology UMTS, at 7 PM. (STA)

MILAN, Italy - Environment Minister Janez Kopac is to attend a two-day ministerial meeting taking place as part of the 9th conference of the countries signatories of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

GENEVA, Switzerland - Information Society Minister Pavel Gantar is to attend the first part of the World Summit on the Information Society between 10 and 12 December.

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary commission for constitutional affairs is to convene at 3 PM to discus the planned changes to the Constitution.

LJUBLJANA/MARIBOR,PIRAN - Marking the Human Rights Day, Amnesty International Slovenije is to carry out a campaign drawing attention to uncontrolled arms trafficking.

LJUBLJANA - The opposition National Party (SNS) is to speak to the press about arms trafficking, at noon.

LJUBLJANA - Mayor of Ljubljana Danica Simsic is to speak to the press at 1 PM upon one year in office.

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Writers' Association is to elect a new president, at 7 PM, as the incumbent president Tone Persak's two-year term is about to expire. Poet Meta Kusar and writer Vlado Zabot are standing for the post.

RIJEKA, Croatia - The Slovenian women's handball team are to play Romania at 9.15 PM (group II), as the World Handball Championships continue in Croatia.
