LJUBLJANA - The parliament is to convene for an extraordinary session at 10 AM to discuss the 2004 and 2005 budgets. (STA)
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Prime Minister Anton Rop is to attend a meeting of the European Liberal Democrats (ELDR), traditionally held on the eve of EU summits.
LJUBLJANA - The government is to convene for its regular weekly session. One of the main items on the agenda is the Single Programming Document for the period between 2004 and 2006, which was drafted by the Government Office for Structural Policy and Regional Development.
MILAN, Italy - The ministerial part of the 9th conference of signatories of the UN Convention on Climate Change is to wrap up. Slovenia is represented by Minister of the Environment, Energy and Spatial Planning Janez Kopac.
GENEVA, Switzerland - Minister of the Information Society Pavel Gantar is to address the plenary session of the World Summit on the Information Society.
LJUBLJANA - The Agency for Agricultural Markets and Rural Development is to stage a press conference to present activities conducted in 2003 and plans for 2004.
KRSKO - Agriculture Minister Franci But and president of the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry Peter Vrisk are to attend a round-table debate on horticulture in the Posavje region after Slovenia joins the EU, at 2:30 PM.
LJUBLJANA - Boris Sustar, a former state secretary recently found guilty of corruption, is to stage a press conference at 11 AM together with the Helsinki Monitor of Slovenia to address human rights violations in the trial against him. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Historian Bozo Repe is to stage a press conference at noon to present his latest book entitled "The Red Slovenia: Currents and Faces of the Socialist Period".
LJUBLJANA - The activist association for the erased, an informal group fighting for the rights of the erased, is to host a public forum at 5 PM.
RIJEKA, Croatia - The Slovenian women's handball team are to play Norway at 7.15 PM (group II), as the World Handball Championships continue in Croatia. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Union Olimpija will take on Greece's AEK Athens in the 6th round Group A game of the Euroleague, Europe's strongest basketball competition. The game starts at 8:40 PM. (STA)
CELJE - The Slovenian Handball Association is to stage a press conference to present preparations for the European Handball Championships for men, which start on 22 January 2004.
