Kacin and Peterle Regret Suspension of Negotiations on Constitutional Treaty

Brussels, 13 December - MP Jelko Kacin, chair of the parliamentary foreign policy committee and member of the Convention on the future of Europe, believes that the failure of the EU summit on Saturday is not tragic. It turns out that certain issues demand more time for a compromise, he told STA. On the other hand, MP Alojz Peterle, who has been on the Convention's presidium, regretted that the European leaders could not find an agreement on the European constitutional treaty. Yet, a delay is better than a bad agreement, he thought.
