Equality between Men and Women Should Be Included in European Elections Act

Ljubljana, 17 December - The government and the parliament should draft and pass such provisions that would enable equal opportunities for women and men who will run as candidates at the European Parliament elections. This was stressed in a letter that the Coalition for Equal Representation of Women and Men in Public Life addressed Wednesday to the government - which is drafting amendments to the act on European Parliament elections, due in Slovenia in mid-June 2004.
