Human Trafficking Ring Convicted; 1 Year and 10 Months Jail for Chief

Ljubljana, 18 December - Twelve people have been convicted of racketeering crimes as the trial of a human trafficking ring that transported illegal immigrants from Central and Eastern Europe to the West came to an end on Thursday. The Ljubljana District Court found all twelve defendants guilty, including Josip Loncaric, the apparent head of the group, who was sentenced to one year and ten months jail time. Both the prosecution and the defence is set to appeal the sentence.
