Kopac Optimistic about Environmental Issues, MPs Disagree

Ljubljana, 18 December - Not only are dumpsites and the quality of underground waters still a problem - emission of greenhouse gases have even increased, and Slovenia is not all that likely to meet the goals set by the Kyoto Protocol, lawmakers said Thursday, disagreeing with the views of Environment Minister Janez Kopac, who briefed the National Assembly on Thursday about the 2002 environment report. According to him, the situation is constantly improving, with the exception of traffic.
