Maribor, 19 December - The Italian EU presidency in practice ended its term on Wednesday in Strasbourg with a final address of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to the European Parliament. Even during the farewell he had to endure a number of critical remarks, since many take the suspension of the intergovernmental conference as his personal failure. But this time, he did not debate it out with his critics, instead he insisted that a bad compromise would be the true failure, writes Vecer on Friday.
