Parliament Marks Independece Plebiscite Anniversary

Ljubljana, 23 December - Parliament held a ceremonial session on Tuesday to mark the 13th anniversary of a referendum that saw a vast majority of Slovenians voting for an independent Slovenian state. Holding a speech at the ceremony, Vice-Speaker Valentin Pohorec noted the importance of the plebiscite and stressed the need for Slovenia to keep its identity after becoming EU and NATO member.
