Croatia Has not Changed Direction, Dnevnik Suggests

Ljubljana, 24 December - Now that a new government is in place in Croatia, when the winning Croatian Democratic Party (HDZ) has made all kinds of promises, when Europe has been reassured that nationalism will not be too bad and when the neighbour countries rest assured that it will not turn for the worse, the time has come to assess the situation, a Ljubljana-based paper notes in Wednesday's edition. Dnevnik warns, however, that the impression that Croatia has taken a new direction after the elections is quite deceptive.
