Biathlon: Poiree Wins Women's Sprint

Pokljuka, 7 January - Norway's Liv-Grete Poiree won Wednesday's 7.5-kilometre sprint, the first event of the Pokljuka stage of the biathlon World Cup, in a time of 22:32.6. Uschi Disl of Germany came in second 5.7 seconds behind Poiree, with World Cup leader Sandrine Bailly of France finishing third, 11.3 seconds adrift. All three had one penalty loop.
