140 Slovene conscripts still have not been discharged from the YA

Ljubljana, 16 August - According to the data collected by 3 p.m. today, 140 Slovene conscripts still have not been discharged from the Yugoslav Army. The Department for Conscription and Posting of the Ministry of Defence reports that Boris Kosi from Ljutomer is being held in detention for attempting to desert from the barracks in Zemunik (Zadar), Slavko Germek from Krško is currently doing extended military service. The term of his compulsory military service has been extended till August 29, as penalty for attempting to desert from the Yugoslav Army. Dalibor Jovanovič from Ajdovščina, who was doing compulsory military service in Zemun has signed a statement certifying that he wishes to complete his entire 12-month training in full in the Yugoslav Army. Dalibor Jovanovič is the only soldier known to date to have signed the statement on the completion of the 12-months military service in the Yugoslav Army.
