Dr. Alojzij Šuštar has sent a letter to the Serbian Patriarch Pavle

Ljubljana, 16 August - Archbishop of Ljubljana and Metropolitan dr. Alojzij Šuštar has sent a letter to the Serbian Patriarch Pavle and the Holy Synod, in which he expresses his regrets that the meeting of the Serbian Patriarch Pavle and the Croatian Archbishop Monsignor Cardinal Franjo Kuharič together with the Orthodox and Catholic bishops from Croatia scheduled to take place on August 8. in Banja Luka was postponed indefinitely. The joint efforts of the prelates could have contributed greatly towards the reciprocal allayment of the turbulent situation in the crisis regions, wrote dr. Alojzij Šuštar. The Archbishop went on to stress that no person can reach anything of good and of duration for the benefit of his nation though violence and expressed his hopes that the planned meeting between the Orthodox and Catholic bishops would take place as soon as possible in the near future.
