Potocnik Discuses EU Accession in the U.S.

New York, 18 January - Europe Minister Janez Potocnik, who concluded his week-long visit to the U.S. on Friday, told STA that Slovenia's accession to the EU and bilateral relations topped the agenda of his talks in Washington and New York. Potocnik, who was invited to the U.S. by the State Department as part of the International Visitor Programme, said that U.S. officials assessed that EU membership would make Slovenia's role in the world and in relations with the U.S. stronger.
