Ljubljana, 18 January - Slovenia's inflation rate will average 3.6 percent this year, predicted the Institute for Macroeconomic Analyses and Development (IMAD) in its corrected inflation forecast last week, which expects inflation to drop to 3 percent in 2005. The economic growth will stand at 2.4 percent in 2003 and is to rise to 3.6 percent this year, IMAD also said. In other news, the Transport Ministry promised Slovenian lorry drivers to obtain additional Austrian transit permits at the beginning of next week.
