Golden Fox: Paerson Triumphs in Women's Giant Slalom

Maribor, 24 January - Anja Paerson of Sweden is the winner of the women's World Cup giant slalom held on the slopes of Pohorje near Maribor. Paerson, second after the first run, finished in a combined time of 2:18.27, overtaking Austria's Michaela Dorfmeister (+0.98) who led after the first run. Moving up one spot to take Nicole Hosp's place in third - the Austrian failed to finish the second run - was Spain's Maria Jose Rienda Contreras (+1.23).
