Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 17 to 23 January

Ljubljana, 24 January - On the home front the most burning issue of the week was the erased citizens and the referendum scheduled for 15 February. As the country approaches EU membership, Prime Minister Anton Rop named Europe Minister Janez Potocnik as the candidate for a commissioner's post in the European Commission. Toward the end of the week, President Janez Drnovsek travelled to Davos where he held a number of important meetings on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.
