Croatia still prepared for talks on confederation

Zagreb, 22 August - President Tudjman's top advisor for public relations, Ante Babić, has given a statement for STA, in which he says that the President of the SFRY Presidency, Stipe Mesić will unconditionally resign, if aggression of YA and Serbian Četniks continues in the Republic of Croatia. In the latter case, President Mesič would feel responsible, as presiding to the political institution, which did not succeed in keeping under control the armed forces, which are exerting aggression on his own republic. He will remain performing his official duties, as long as he is able to curb the aspiration of the Serbian lobby within the federal presidency, even though his presence gives legitimacy to its decisions.
