Ljubljana, 26 January - Below is a schedule of events for Tuesday, 27 January:

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is expected to meet NATO's new Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer. The meeting is part of the new NATO chief's introductory meetings with representatives of the member states, the newcomers and NATO partner countries. (STA)

STRASBOURG, France - The Council of Europe committee on legal affairs and human rights is to discuss a report on the debt of the defunct Ljubljanska banka bank to account-holders from the former Yugoslavia, mainly Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The report, which rapporteur Eric Juergens has been compiling for over two years, is to be discussed for the first time. The debate will unfold behind closed doors. (STA)

BRNIK - Prime Minister of Luxembourg Jean-Claude Juncker is to arrive for a visit to Slovenia at 7 PM.

LJUBLJANA - European Ombudsman Nikiforos Diamandouros is to wrap up his two-day visit to Slovenia. On his agenda are meetings with President Janez Drnovsek, PM Anton Rop and Constitutional Court President Dragica Wedam Lukic. He is to give a press conference at 2.30 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary foreign policy committee and the European affairs commission are to hold a joint session at 8.30 AM to to debate the nomination of Europe Minister Janez Potocnik for the post of European commissioner. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - National Assembly Speaker Borut Pahor is to hold a meeting with heads of the parliamentary deputy groups at 9 AM to discuss the call of an extraordinary parliamentary session dedicated to the issue of the erased. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to continue its regular January session at 10 AM, with the agenda including a re-vote on the hunting and game administration bill, which had been vetoed by the
National Council. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Export Corporation is to present to the press the 2003 business results, the new management team and the Corporation's plans for 2004, at 11.30 AM.

LJUBLJANA/CELJE - The second stage of the 6th European Men's Handball Championships is to get underway:

Group 1 (Celje):
Switzerland - Spain   at 4.00 PM
Sweden - Croatia      at 6.00 PM
Russia - Denmark      at 8.00 PM

Group 2 (Ljubljana):
Hungary - France              at 4.30 PM
Czech Republic - Germany      at 6.30 PM
