Accession Treaty to Be Ratified Today
Ljubljana, 28 January - The Slovenian Parliament is expected to ratify the EU Accession Treaty today in what is the final step Slovenia must take before it is officially admitted to the EU on 1 May. The Treaty, signed in Athens on 16 April 2003, defines the terms of entry for all ten newcomers, and is the result of accession negotiations that the acceding countries concluded in December 2002.
