Schedule of Events for Wednesday, 28 January

LJUBLJANA - The parliament is expected to ratify Slovenia's EU Accession Treaty as the regular January session continues at 10 AM. The MPs are to be addressed on the occasion by Prime Minister Anton Rop, Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel and Europe Minister Janez Potocnik. The vote is scheduled to take place at noon. Also on the agenda is the ratification of the Vatican agreement. (STA)

BRDO PRI KRANJU/LJUBLJANA - The visiting Prime Minister of Luxembourg Jean-Claude Juncker is to meet Prime Minister Anton Rop and President Janez Drnovsek. A press conference is scheduled for 12.50 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Speaker of the Canadian Senate Dan Hays is to arrive for a two-day visit. He is scheduled to meet National Council President Janez Susnik, Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, Deputy Director of the Government Office for European Affairs Rado Genorio and Mayor of Ljubljana Danica Simsic. A press statement is to be given at 11.00 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The Defence Ministry is to present to the press the measures implemented in line with the classified information act.

LJUBLJANA - Minister of Education, Science and Sports Slavko Gaber is to present to the press the 2004 working plan of his ministry at 1 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The Ministry of the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy is to give a press conference at 10 AM on investments planned into the development of electricity grids in order to provide reliable supply of electricity.

IG - A panel debate on the implementation of the common agriculture policy reform in Slovenia is to be staged by the Slovenian Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry at 4 PM.
