Handball: Slovenia Beat Serbia-Montenegro

Ljubljana, 27 January - The home team has won a tight affair against Serbia-Montenegro in first round play (group II) of the second-stage at the European Men's Handball Championships. Overcoming the physically-strong - at times savage - game of their opponents, their own mistake-ridden game, and a refereeing pair under incessant pressure from the Serbia-Montenegro bench, the Slovenian team won 27:20 (14:11). Slovenia is now first in the group II standings.
