Vatican Agreement Proper Basis for Church's Operation, Drnovsek Says

Ljubljana, 28 January - Slovenia's EU Accession Treaty and the agreement between Slovenia and the Holy See consolidate the country's international position, President Janez Drnovsek said on Wednesday, ahead of the ratification of the two agreements in parliament. Ljubljana Archbishop Franc Rode meanwhile voiced his satisfaction at the prospective ratification of the Vatican agreement and hope that it would provide a good basis for further talks with the state on other open issues.
