Handball: Germany Trounce Slovenia
Ljubljana, 28 January - The undefeated streak of Slovenia has come to an end, as the home team choked against the big names of Germany, going down 34:21 (10:18) in second round play (group II) of the second stage at the 6th European Men's Handball Championships. Too many turnovers in offence and feeble defending cost Slovenia the game. Some woeful adjudicating by the Spanish refereeing pair only helped to add salt to the wound. Germany now move into first place in group I.
