Pisnik 29th, Srebotnik Down to 50th Spot in WTA Rankings

Ljubljana, 2 February - The first grand slam tournament of the season had a mixed impact on the rankings of Slovenian tennis players, who did not manage to get to the second round of the Australian Open in singles competition. Tina Pisnik advanced to the 29th spot - the highest ranking in her career which she held at the beginning of the year - while Katarina Srebotnik slid from 37th to 50th position. Injuries ridden Maja Matevzic lost two spots to land at 60th place.
