Social Partners to Examine EU Readiness of Economy

Ljubljana, 4 February - Members of the economic and social council have endorsed a request of trade unions that the council should examine the readiness of Slovenia's economy for EU entry and the current worrying economic situation in the country at an extraordinary session. The decision is a response to the announcements of the scrapping of production at cigarette maker Tobacna Ljubljana and several other recent developments regarding lay-offs.
